We Keep Us Alive: An Afternoon to Remember Those Executed & Envision a Future of Abolition

Join us at Pullen Memorial Baptist Church in Raleigh on August 16, 2025, for an afternoon of remembrance and resistance as we gather to commemorate the 19th anniversary of North Carolina’s last execution.
We’ll honor the 43 lives taken by the state with a 1-mile march to Central Prison, and we’ll explore abolition through creative workshops using music, poetry, and movement to step into a space of radical imagination together.
This event is a memorial, a movement space, and a message: executions must never return.
