Two highly respected judges, Retired Chief Justice of the NC Supreme Court Jim Exum, Jr. and Retired NC Superior Court Judge Mary Ann Tally, are among the many voices who offered thanks to Gov. Cooper for commuting 15 death sentences.

Call to action from our neighbors @scadeathpenalty : The South Carolina Department of Corrections has issued an execution warrant for Marion Bowman on January 31, 2025. His conviction was based on unreliable, incentivized testimony, with no forensic evidence connecting him to the crime scene. Marion’s trial was also marred by the deep-seated racism of his own trial attorney, who was more committed to his prejudice than his ethical duty to represent his client effectively.
