It’s time to say enough is enough.
On August 16, history was made. For the first time On August 16, history was made. For the first time since leaving Central Prison’s death row, Alfred Rivera, Ed Chapman, and Henry McCollum shared space together at We Keep Us Alive. Their presence reminded us of the deep injustice of the death penalty and the power of survival, resilience, and community.

We are grateful to every person who joined us that day, remembering lives taken by execution and daring to imagine what abolition means for themselves and their communities. Together, we keep each other alive.

Florida has executed Kayle Barrington Bates, a Bla Florida has executed Kayle Barrington Bates, a Black Muslim veteran. 

Kayle was the 29th person executed in the US this year. He was the 10th person killed by Florida in 2025. 

Rest in peace, Kayle. We remember your life and mourn your execution.
