Florida has executed Edward "Zak" Zakrzewski, an A Florida has executed Edward "Zak" Zakrzewski, an Air Force veteran who was sentenced to die by a 7–5 split jury.

Zak was the 27th person executed in the US this year. He was the 9th person killed by Florida in 2025.

Rest in peace, Zak. We remember your life and mourn your execution.
Supported communities = safer communities Study a Supported communities = safer communities

Study after study has shown that the death penalty does not improve public safety. Every dollar funneled into the state's death program is a dollar we can't use towards making our communities safer, better resourced, and able to meet dynamic, changing needs.
